Get to know me before you blog

My name is Clara Chinwe Okoro, a Nigerian .I am a broadcast journalist and my career on TV dates back to 27th June 1993 when I first presented a programme on our National TV, NTA called “Hair Skin & Vogue”, a beauty programme, well received by audience, it marked my early start in Television broadcasting.

My career as a TV broadcast journalist is centered around my current TV programme BRANDWORLD which evolved from a former one called Advertising world.

BRANDWORLD is an industry-focused programmes that X-ray’s, profiles and tracks events around brands and the marketing communications industry. It is produced weekly and is transmitted on a station called CHANNELS TV.

I am the producer as well as the presenter due to the challenges careers like mine as an independent TV producer encounter in Nigeria, I have to minimize cost by multitasking, producing as well as presenting the programme, my marketers go to different organizations week after week to source for participants for the programme, we look for companies that are launching or having events around new products and brands and ask them if we could cover the events and profile it on the programme, that way the viewers and consumers are well informed about that brand and make informed  decisions on how that brand would affect their lives.

I go with my camera to cover most of these events, I interview some key officers there, then take my Links in the studio, and now go to a rented studio to edit the programme for the week and then go and submit the tape for transmission

BRANDWORLD is a 25min TV shows with five segments – brand .com, consumer on line, brand label, and info box and Ad’s Abroad. Our mission is for it to become a continental programme in Africa, teaching people how brands changes their lives daily.
